The thing about me and work is that I've done something similar to the oft quoted phrase "mailing it in." Haven't really done any work in ~ 3 days now. The three levels of management hierarchy above me are not here and probably won't be here tomorrow. Been mostly reading alot on the net about data and metrics and statistics and probability and the like. Just got back from lunch where the following subjects were addressed:
1) traffic
2) gas prices
And the following beginning of a sentence started:
"Guys, I filled up my tank the other day and..."
Now I am going to do a solid four hours or so of reading about sports, current events, and advances in the mathematical finance sphere before I take a break at ~ 3:30 and then a bathroom break at ~ 5. The net is providing me with alot of things to cover, so I must get to it...
I am all for the government mandated break.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I filled up my tank the other and BOY LET ME TELL YOU!!! I thought that once Bush was out of office I wasn't going to have to worry about gas or my mortgage, but boy was I wrong. I guess the old adage is true, "Bush lied, people died."
the thing about the effects of the lies that Bush told was that they are not something we can simply bottle up and dispose of now that we've disposed of him.
ReplyDeleteit's like he went to the top of a windy hill and dumped a bucket of feathers (lies) over the surrounding towns (middle america) and now we (obama) have to go and clean up the mess (BP oil spill). this will take time (a 2nd term), sacrifice (your tax dollars), and patience (we'll close Gitmo soon enough).
once we have cleaned up the lies, feathers, and oil, the pigs at the oil companies and defense contractors will stop making exorbitant profits and the wealth will start flowing to us ("la gente").

@ T.O.: The rage of white-collar upper class America is appearing to be reaching something of a boiling point here. You can't focus on anything else but those same concepts in every post. You can't relate to other things the rest of the country care about like shootin' the breeze.
